“SEAL has been one of the most incredible things I’ve ever been a part of. I am unbelievably lucky to have attended, and the connections, the knowledge, and the experiences I accumulated in those two weeks helped me grow so much as a human being and an activist and will continue to help me throughout my life. At times, there were challenges. There was conflict and stress, and I know I made mistakes and didn’t always act as the leader I hope to become. I genuinely believe, though, that the rocky parts made me a better person. I learned, and I grew, and I know I can apply lessons from the challenges to my other work with Heirs and my life. Being at SEAL is the happiest I have ever been in my life. It’s a feeling of constant flow state, acceptance, creativity and expression, and unconditional love for one another. There’s an energy and hope I have never felt anywhere else.
In two weeks, 40 international strangers became family. In two weeks, I felt a deeper connection to my natural environment and my land than I have ever experienced before. I stretched my boundaries and did things I never thought I would be capable of doing, and I watched Heirs around me blossom from hopeful and passionate kids into determined and equipped youth leaders. I am so incredibly grateful to have attended SEAL 2019. I hope that SEAL can continue and grow and empower others as it has empowered me, and I can’t wait to see what we Heirs accomplish. We are truly unstoppable.”
