YOUTH PRESENTER.
Charley Peebler, now 16 years old, is a co-founder of Heirs To Our Oceans (H2OO). H2OO educates, empowers and connects youth in purpose ocean and water protection and climate action and is a global movement. Charley and her fellow Heirs learn about the problems they are inheriting through scientists and research mentors and they actively engage in solutions. Charley’s focus areas include the climate crisis, coral and deep sea habitats, derelict fishing gear and unsustainable fishing practices, issues in recycling plastics and human rights issues related to all. Charley speaks regularly – locally, nationally and internationally – to lawmakers and governing bodies, to students, to educators via presentations, panels and media. Charley formed the Youth Advisory Council to the Ocean Climate Action Plan and sits on the Youth Advisory Council to the US National Committee to the UN Ocean Decade. She is currently a candidate for National Geographic Young Explorers.
