THEORY OF CHANGE

We envision a world where all youth are prepared to lead humanity into a more just, equitable, empathetic future and are connected to the natural world and each other.

This vision will take opportunities for youth to learn about the problems they are inheriting, and the time, space, and support to process solutions with diverse youth from their communities around the world.

We will achieve this by providing programs for youth that connect them to one another in their natural environment, allowing them to gain skills and confidence necessary to cultivate real-world change, and to collaborate with a diverse group of peers to problem solve, act, and advocate for a more just and healthy future.

Youth find great power when they come to understand that water connects all life in our shared one-water system. They connect with each other to protect our Blue Planet together, crossing barriers, as they develop into empathetic and effective leaders of the future.

OUR THEORY OF CHANGE

H2OO UNITES YOUTH IN PURPOSE

Water connects all life in the one-water system we call Earth, including humans. Youth find great power and purpose when they come to understand this. They want to protect our Blue Planet together, crossing barriers as they connect in purpose and become empathetic and effective leaders.

Heirs To Our Ocean believes that all youth must have opportunities to learn about the problems they are inheriting and have space and support to process solutions with diverse youth from around the world. Accordingly, H2OO provides at minimum ⅘  need-based scholarships for under-resourced and traditionally marginalized youth to attend its programs.

OUR PROGRAMS

H2OO IS CREATED FOR YOUTH AND BY YOUTH

Our programs represent the way in which we partner with and serve youth. Each program has evolved from solutions created by youth leadership to meet the ever-evolving needs of youth globally. All programming is focused on collaboration across a diverse spectrum of socioeconomic backgrounds and communities. By doing so, youth create effective and actionable solutions to the humanitarian and environmental crises they face.
