FOSTERING SKILL BUILDING, CONFIDENCE & GLOBAL CONNECTION
Heirs to Our Ocean (H2OO) summits bring a diverse group of youth together from widely different backgrounds to engage in purpose through a thematic program with a specific problem-solving intention aimed at inspiring youth into action, together.
Some summits are focused “skill-building retreats”, where youth engage in an intensive convening involving furthering development of particular skills, such as public speaking and presenting, storytelling and filmmaking, or policy advocacy and civic engagement.
Shared-learning and collaborative projects are always a part of the experience, as youth learn so much in listening to and working with other youth.
Each summit inspires the next, as youth’s suggestions and needs are imperative in summit development.

SUMMIT FOR EMPOWERMENT ACTION & LEADERSHIP (SEAL)
H2OO SEAL
H2OO Summit for Empowerment, Action & Leadership (SEAL) is our flagship youth convening which started in 2017. An annual 2-week in-person intensive, SEAL connects youth from around the world in-purpose where they learn from each other about challenges encountered around the world, process solutions together, and collaborate in action.

H2OO SEAL “SPECIAL OPS” 2020
When Covid stopped us from meeting in person in 2020, we quickly pivoted with the support of Packard Foundation and held a 6-week online intensive for youth around the world to amply their voices through learning storytelling and filmmaking skills. 10 films were made by diverse teams of youth from 9 countries.
H2OO SEAL “Special Ops” 2020 was a deeply connecting and vastly enriching experience for youth during that difficult period of isolation.
H2OO employed Directors of Photography everywhere the youth were located, around the world, to capture the participants in their environments and allow them to share their story more deeply.
